الأمم المتحدة توافق على فريق خبراء جديد لبوروندي لملاحقة مرتكبي الجرائم
جنيف (رويترز) – وافق مجلس حقوق الإنسان التابع للأمم المتحدة يوم الخميس على مشروع قرار أفريقي بإرسال فريق من ثلاثة خبراء للعمل مع الحكومة البوروندية في ملاحقة مرتكبي “الجرائم المؤسفة”.
وجاهر الاتحاد الأوروبي والولايات المتحدة بمعارضة النص الذي قدمته المجموعة الأفريقية في اللحظات الأخيرة وجرى تبنيه بواقع 23 دولة مؤيدة مقابل 14 معارضة بينما امتنعت تسع دول عن التصويت في المجلس الذي يضم 47 دولة ومقره جنيف.
وقال وفد لاتفيا نيابة عن الاتحاد الأوروبي “النص لا يعكس بحال من الأحوال نطاق أو شدة الوضع في بوروندي” مضيفا أن مناورة اللحظة الأخيرة “تمثل سابقة خطيرة للمجلس”.
ولم يتضح على الفور مصير لجنة التحقيق بشأن بوروندي التابعة للأمم المتحدة والتي قالت هذا الشهر إنه يجب تحميل كبار المسؤولين البورونديين المسؤولية عن الفظائع التي ربما تصل إلى حد الجرائم ضد الإنسانية.
