ماتيس: الولايات المتحدة مستمرة في الجهود الدبلوماسية لحل أزمة كوريا الشمالية

نيودلهي (رويترز) – قال وزير الدفاع الأمريكي جيمس ماتيس يوم الثلاثاء إن الجهود الدبلوماسية لمعالجة الأزمة التي تسبب بها تطوير كوريا الشمالية لأسلحتها النووية والصاروخية مستمرة.

وقال ماتيس، خلال زيارة رسمية تستمر يومين إلى العاصمة الهندية لتعزيز العلاقات العسكرية، إن الضغط على كوريا الشمالية قد تزايد في أعقاب قرار الأمم المتحدة.

وقال للصحفيين “نحن مستمرون في الجهود الدبلوماسية في الأمم المتحدة”.

وأضاف “لقد رأيتم القرارات التي صدق عليها مجلس الأمن بالإجماع والتي زادت الضغط… على كوريا الشمالية وفي الوقت عينه نحن نتمسك بالقدرة على ردع التهديدات الأخطر لكوريا الشمالية”.
